The Youth and Human Resources Committee of the Shura Council met on Wednesday at the council headquarters with several employees who had been notified of voluntary resignation from a private company. The meeting aimed to understand the reasons behind their dismissal.
During the sixth meeting of the second annual session (2024–2025), the dismissed employees shared their perspectives on the reasons and justifications for their termination. The meeting also explored potential solutions and alternatives to the challenges of securing new employment. Discussions included the possibility of integrating these employees into other companies operating in similar sectors, such as food products. The committee emphasized the importance of curbing layoffs due to their significant economic, social, and health impacts on affected individuals.
Additionally, the committee reviewed its recommendations regarding a proposal to establish a center for talented individuals in Oman, in coordination with relevant authorities. Other topics discussed during the meeting included the committee’s response to adding service years from the Ministry of Defense to the Social Protection Fund and its response to a submission from graduates in graphic design.
The meeting was chaired by Younis Ali Al Mandhari, Chair of the Youth and Human Resources Committee, and attended by committee members.
