The Economic & Financial Committee hosted, H.E. Dr. Rashid Nasser Al-Mawali, Undersecretary of
Ministry of Economy, numbers of stakeholders, and to review the National Programme for Economic Diversification, Which is one of the accelerators of Oman's Vision 2040 overseen by the Ministry of Economy - and accelerates the achievement of growth targets in the targeted economic sectors (manufacturing - mining - food security - transport, logistics - tourism).

H.E. gave visual presentation on the prospects and trends of the global economy during the current period.

He also reviewed the economic diversification, financial sustainability and strategic direction of the program, noting that the program contributes to the creation of locomotive and integrated sectors of the national economy, as well as the establishment of a diversified and integrated competitive economy based on entrepreneurship and the orientation of the future.


The meeting also discussed the general framework and sectoral policies to transform the structure of the national economy to reach the goals of economic diversification, and the sustainability of productive sectors included under the umbrella of diversification. In addition to the challenges facing the implementation of the plans and initiatives of the (diversification) program, and the extent of cooperation of relevant government institutions.

The members of the committee made their observations and inquiries, which focused on the difficulties and challenges facing the implementation of the program and the efforts exerted to solve them, the members of the committee also questioned the ministry's studies on the interlinkages between the sectors of economic diversification, in addition to inquiring about the extent of harmonizing the legislative environment to promote the sectors of economic diversification. 


This discussion came as part of the Sixth meeting of the Committee for the First Annual Session (2023-2024) of the Tenth Term, chaired by H.E. Ahmed Saeed Al Sharqi Head of the Committee and in the presence of their Excellencies members of the committee.
