The Youth and Human Resources Committee of the Shura Council convened this morning (Tuesday) to discuss several proposals referred by the Council’s Office. Among the topics were the proposals concerning "Measures to Prevent Foreign Workers from Leaving without Sponsor Approval" and "Establishing a Center for Omani Talents."
During the meeting, committee members heard justifications and perspectives from the esteemed proponents of these proposals, along with the objectives they aim to achieve. The committee reviewed the proposal on "Measures to Prevent Foreign Workers from Leaving without Sponsor Approval," examining the procedural and legislative aspects associated with it. They also assessed the proposal's alignment with the Labor Law, considering its provisions and the importance of avoiding redundancy in the functions of relevant authorities.
Additionally, the committee discussed the proposal on "Establishing a Center for Omani Talents." They highlighted the significance of the center in supporting talented youth and enhancing their presence both locally and internationally. The committee examined the roles of the entities involved in nurturing youth talents to prevent overlapping responsibilities and wastage of public funds. This meeting marked the committee’s eighth meeting for the first annual session of the tenth term (2023–2027), which was chaired by His Excellency Younis bin Ali Al-Mandhri, Chairman of the Committee, with the presence of esteemed committee members
