Shura Youth Committee Explores Remote Work System in Government Administrative Units

The Youth and Human Resources Committee of the Shura Council hosted a group of officials from the Ministry of Commerce, Industry, and Investment Promotion on Monday to discuss their expressed interest in the Implementation of Remote Work System in the Administrative Units of the State.
During the meeting, the committee reviewed the ministry's experience in implementing the remote work system, emphasizing its importance, objectives, and the technical capabilities available for the initiative's application in government institutions. The discussion also covered the decisions made by the ministry to regulate remote work and the training courses provided to employees before the system's implementation.

Challenges related to legislation and regulation were highlighted, along with the solutions adopted to address them. The committee aimed to enhance the remote work system as an ideal means to protect employees and ensure business continuity during crises, fostering a work culture that encourages the adoption of remote work in the state's administrative units.



Additionally, the committee hosted a group of employees from the Ministry of Housing and Urban Planning participating in the "Million Hours" initiative. Their perspectives on the initiative and the challenges they face were discussed, leading to the proposal of various solutions to improve their current situation.

Furthermore, the committee welcomed a group of school janitors, addressing their views on employment contracts with cleaning companies. The meeting also delved into financial challenges and the necessity to enhance them, linking them to the social insurance system in the Sultanate of Oman.

This took place during the committee's fourth regular meeting for the first annual session of the tenth term (2023-2027), chaired by Mr. Younis bin Ali Al-Mundhiri, and attended by several esteemed committee members.
