Economic and Financial Committee of the Shura Council Consults Academic Experts on Proposed "Personal Income Tax Law"

The Economic and Financial Committee of the Shura Council held a meeting this morning (Monday) with several academic experts in the field of economics. The purpose of the meeting was to gather insights and consider the perspectives of these experts regarding the proposed "Personal Income Tax Law," which the committee is currently reviewing.
During the meeting, the overall economic situation in the Sultanate of Oman was discussed, along with the economic costs and indirect social impacts of implementing the tax. 

Members of the committee engaged in extensive discussions with the academics, focusing on the key provisions of the proposed law and various economic aspects related to the imposition of the tax.

This meeting was part of the committee's twelfth regular meeting for the first annual session of the tenth term (2023-2027), chaired by His Excellency Ahmed bin Said Al Sharqi, Chairman of the Committee and attended by several distinguished committee members.
