Oman participates in the second annual session of the Arab Parliament

The Sultanate delegation took part in the final 5th sitting of the second annual session of the Arab Parliament.
 
The president of the Arab Parliament (AP) reviewed various activities and works of the organization. A number of publications and work plans were adopted during the annual session such as the Arab comprehensive document for compacting extremism and terrorism, first report about the political situation of the Arab world, three work plans on the Palestinian issue, lifting Sudan from the list of the countries sponsoring terrorism and plan for supporting the least developed Arab countries.
 
The president of the AP affirmed that the Arab Parliament seeks a political solution for the Arab countries crises beginning from the Syrian conflict, supporting Iraq matter and looking forward to reach the late elections to a national reconciliation and unity among Iraqis, convergences of views among Libyan parties to reach a political compensation and supporting the constitutional legitimacy of the Republic of Yemen.

H.E.  Ahmed Aboul-Gheit, Secretary General of the Arab League, delivered a speech in which he affirmed that the Arab diplomacy faces a real   challenge towards addressing the Palestinian issue since the announcement of the American Administration to recognize Jerusalem as a capital of Israel and shifting its embassy there, as well as the series of Israeli violations against Palestinian. The sitting also discussed the reports of Palestine Committee and the Committee on lifting Sudan from the list of the countries sponsoring terrorism.
