A’Shura Council inaugurated the 3rd annual session (2017-2018) of the 8th term (2015-2019) as per the directive of His Majesty Sultan Qaboos and pursuant of the provisions and principles of the Basic Statute of the State.

The sitting was chaired by H.E. Sheikh Khalid bin Hilal Al Maawali, Chairman of the Council. The Chairman of the Council delivered a speech in which he expressed his thanks and appreciation for the grant of His Majesty Sultan Qaboos for the social security families on occasion the 47 national day as well as the two Eids.The Council started its first sitting by the election of the six complementary  members  for the membership of the Council Bureau according to the Article Number (48) of  the Internal Regulation. The result of the voting was as follows: H.E. Abdullah Ali Al Amri  obtained (62) votes, H.E. Mohammed Suliman Al Kandi, (55) votes, H.E. Ahmed bin Saif AL Barawani (49) votes, H.E. Mohammed bin Said Al Hajari (41) votes, H.E. Sultan bin Majid AL Abri, (39) votes and H.E. Taher Mabkout Al Junabi  (38) votes.
 
After that, the Council discussed the lists of the candidates for the  Head and Deputies for the eight Standing Committees of the Council.
