The workshop was attended by a number of administrative leaders and staff members of the Council’s General Secretariat.
The workshop aimed to highlight modern leadership concepts based on emotional intelligence, enhance the ability of administrative leaders to develop self-awareness and manage emotions, and improve communication skills and the building of positive workplace relationships. This contributes to increasing job satisfaction, strengthening team spirit, and achieving higher levels of institutional efficiency and productivity.
The training program was delivered by Saeed Al Kiyani, Assistant Dean for Community Engagement at Al Haditha College of Commerce and Sciences. The program targeted a number of leaders from various administrative divisions of the General Secretariat, in their capacity as key contributors to leading work teams.
The program addressed several key themes, including the concept of leadership, its dimensions and importance in guiding institutions toward achieving strategic objectives, the relationship between emotional intelligence and leadership and its impact on improving the work environment and managing professional pressures, as well as the role of emotionally intelligent leadership in motivating employees and positively managing individual differences. The program also reviewed factors contributing to leadership success and the causes of leadership failure within institutions.
The training relied on modern interactive methodologies, including simplified theoretical presentations, discussion groups, and the exchange of experiences among participants, in addition to practical applications and tools designed to enhance communication skills, build trust, and motivate employees. Brainstorming sessions were also held to discuss key leadership challenges in the workplace and effective approaches to addressing them.
This training program forms part of a series of workshops and courses implemented by the General Secretariat of the Shura Council, within the framework of its strategy to invest in human capital, develop capable and forward-looking administrative leadership, keep pace with the requirements of modern institutional work, and promote a positive organizational culture that contributes to improving institutional performance and supporting sustainable development pathways.
