Shura Council Members discuss strategic directions and themes of “Oman 2040”

The members of Shura Council stressed that Oman vision 2040 should be applied in accordance with the current indicators and statistics, inquiring about the availability of the means to achieve the objectives of the vision.
This came during the discussion panel which included the Head of Oman vision 2040 committees, with the aim of involving the Council in shaping the future vision in order to strengthen the participatory approach and activate the role of the community to involve in shaping Oman vision 2040, as per the Royal Orders.
 
The meeting was attended by H.E. Sheikh Khalid Bin Hilal Al Ma'wali, Chairman of Shura Council, and H.E. Sheikh Ali bin Nasser Al Mahrouqi, Secretary General of Shura Council, along with members of the Council. The Oman Vision 2040 team was represented by  H.E. Talal Bin Sulaiman Al Rahbi, Head of the Technical Committee for Oman Vision 2040, and H.E. Abdullah bin Salem Al Salimi, Head of the Economy and Development Committee, H.E. Dr. Saeed Bin Hamad Al Rubaie, Head of the Human and Community Committee, H.E. Salim Bin Musallam Al Busaidi, Head of the Governance and Institutional Performance Committee, and H.E. Dr. Hamad Bin Saeed Al Oufi, Head of the National Priorities and Strategies Harmonization Committee.
 
At the beginning of the meeting, H.E. Talal bin Sulaiman Al Rahbi, Head of the Technical Committee for Oman Vision 2040, stressed the importance of supporting the Council in providing options, advice and studies in implementing the Oman vision 2040. He also pointed out that the vision is still in the process of preparation, and that the various institutions and segments of the society were involved in shaping the Oman Vision 2040.
 
 
During the meeting, Khalid bin Salem Al-Sunaidi, head of Oman Vision 2040 Bureau delivered a presentation and discussed a number of topics related to the preparation of Oman vision 2040, its orientations and strategic objectives. Main Entries of the meeting touched on choosing the themes and indicators of Oman Vision 2040, in addition to activating community participation in building, preparing and correcting the vision, stressing the need to take some of the current challenges during the preparation of the Oman future vision 2040, most notably the problems related to administrative fat. They also stressed the need for the Omani citizens to enjoy well-being, improve the standard of living, and develop education and its outputs to be the most important pillars of development during the coming period, pointing out that the importance of achieving the principle of justice in the distribution of development requirements in various governorates of the Sultanate.
