During its Nineteenth Ordinary Meeting Shura Council Bureau Reviews a Number of Monitoring Tools and a Range of Standing Committee Reports

      The Shura Council Bureau reviewed, during its meeting today (Tuesday), a number of reports from the Council's standing committees on a range of expressed desires submitted by the honourable Members, alongside a review of several ministerial responses to a number of monitoring tools submitted by the honourable Members of the Council.
This took place as part of the proceedings of the Council Bureau's Nineteenth Ordinary Meeting of the Third Ordinary Session of the Tenth Term (2023–2027), chaired by His Excellency Khalid Al Maawali, Chairman of the Council, and attended by the honourable Members of the Bureau and His Excellency Ahmed Al Nadabi, Secretary-General of the Shura Council.
The Council Bureau also reviewed the report of the Economic and Financial Committee on the Ministry of Economy's Annual Report for 2025, which included the Committee's views on the Ministry of Economy's report referred to the Council.
During today's meeting, the Council Bureau also considered a number of monitoring tools submitted by the honourable Members of the Council. Among the most notable was the question addressed to His Excellency the Minister of Housing and Urban Planning regarding the Digital Real Estate Valuation System and the mechanism for determining property value. The Bureau also reviewed the Cognizance Request submitted to His Excellency the Minister of Transport, Communications and Information Technology on the Ministry's plans to rehabilitate and reopen Dibba Airport, which sought to inform the Council of the Ministry's plans for the airport's rehabilitation and development, along with the expected timeline for commencing operations, thereby contributing to improving air transport services and serving citizens.
The Council Bureau also reviewed the Cognizance Request submitted to His Excellency the President of the University of Technology and Applied Sciences regarding delays faced by some of the University's students in completing their academic pathway. It also reviewed the Cognizance Request submitted to Her Excellency the Minister of Education on supporting and incentivising education-sector employees working away from their families, which sought consideration of the possibility of introducing a graduated financial incentive or allowance beginning after a specified period of service away from the family.
Members of the Council Bureau also considered a Cognizance Request on the financial and operational impact of the Ras Al Hamra Project, in addition to reviewing a Cognizance Request on cloud-seeding technology in Dhofar Governorate.
