HE. Khalid bin Hilal Al Maawali, Chairman of Shura Council received today a delegation from “Oman Friends  Group in the European Parliament”, headed by H.E.Ramona Nicole Mănescu, a member of the European Parliament and President of the Group of Friends of Oman in the European Parliament.

At the beginning of the meeting, H.E the Chairman welcomed the delegation and gave them an overview of the Shura march in the Sultanate and the development it witnessed during the past period. He also talked about the joint coordination and cooperation between the State Council and Shura Council in various legislative and oversight aspects .He stressed the importance of the friendship groups in strengthening relations between the parliamentary councils and exchanging experiences in various fields to enhance the legislative and oversight work.

The President of the Oman Friends Group in the European Parliament pointed to the importance of supporting the joint cooperation between the Sultanate and the European Parliament in various fields. She also highlighted the need to strengthen relations between the group and the Standing Parliamentary Committees as they play an active role in promoting various aspects of cooperation.
The meeting was attended by Honourable Dr. Badriya Bibinnt Ibrahim Al Shehi, Member of the State Council, HE Sheikh Ali bin Nasser Al Mahrouqi, Secretary General of the Shura Council, HE. Ambassador Nijim bin Suleiman Al Abri, Sultanate's Ambassador to the Kingdom of Belgium and Ambassador to the European Union.
