H.E. Ahmed bin Mohammed Al-Nadabi, the Secretary General of the Shura Council has received Royal Directives of His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik to prorogue the First Annual Session (2019-2020) of the Ninth Term.
 
 

This marks the end of the First Annual Session of Oman Council of, according to Article (58 bis 26) that stipulates
“Majlis Oman shall have an ordinary session of not less than eight months per year, to be convened upon a summoning from His Majesty the Sultan during the month of November every year (58 bis 29) The summoning to Majlis Oman to convene in ordinary or extraordinary sessions and its adjournment shall be in accordance with an appropriate legal instrument.”
 
 The Secretary General stated that  the Shura Council witnessed important events during this year, most importantly when His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik assumed the throne by the agreement of the royal Family Council on the name proposed by His Late Majesty Sultan Qaboos in his letter .
