Shura to inaugurate its opening Sitting next Thursday

According to the Royal Order of H.M. Sultan Qaboos bin Said, the Shura Council is all set to inaugurate the 1st Annual Session of 9th Term (2023- 2019) on next Thursday, 14 of November, 2019.
 
 
H.E. Sheikh Ahmed Mohammed Al-Nadabi, Secretary General of the Shura Council started his statement by expressing highest congratulations to H.M.  Sultan Qaboos bin Said on the occasion of the 49th National Day. H.E. the Secretary General stressed that H.M. the Sultan accords the Shura Council great care and support, endeavouring to develop the Shura process in the Sultanate in order to perform its role efficiently and competently.

Regarding the preparations of the Council for the opening of the 1st Annual Session of the 9th Term, the Secretary General explained that the Council has completed all preparations to inaugurate the 1st Annual Session in accordance with the procedures stipulated by the Council's Rules of Procedures, stressing that the General Secretariat seeks to provide technical and administrative support to ensure the success of the procedural work of the 1st Annual Session of the 9th Term. H.E. the Secretary General stressed that the sitting will be public and will be attended by various media representatives. The citizens who wish to attend the sitting can communicate with the secretariat of the Council or register via the Council's website.
 
H.E. Sheikh Ahmed Al-Nadabi added that within the agenda of the sitting, the six members of the Bureau of the Council will be elected pursuant to Article (48) of the Rules of Procedure of the Council. In addition,  in conjunction with the opening of the 1st  Annual Session of the 9th  Term of the Council, there will be also implantation of orientation program for the Members of the Shura Council, which will include several topics through which the members will learn about the legislative and oversight roles of the members and their duties towards the Council, as well as  a number of papers on the work of the Council.
