H.E. Said bin Hamad Al Saadi, Deputy Chairman of the Shura Council, received this morning (Sunday) at the Council’s premises a delegation from the High Council of State of the sisterly State of Libya, headed by H.E. Hassan Ali Habib, First Deputy President of the High Council of State. The visit forms part of the delegation’s official programme to the Sultanate of Oman and aims to strengthen cooperation, exchange expertise, and gain insight into Oman’s experience in legislative work and various development fields.
At the outset of the meeting, H.E. the Deputy Chairman welcomed the visiting delegation, affirming the depth of the fraternal and historic relations between the Sultanate of Oman and the sisterly State of Libya, as well as the mutual commitment to enhancing cooperation and coordination across various fields in a manner that serves the interests of both countries and their peoples.
H.E. highlighted the importance of such visits and meetings in supporting cooperation in the legislative field, given their role in enhancing expertise and exchanging successful experiences among legislative councils. He also provided an overview of the history of Shura in the Sultanate of Oman, its stages of development, and the achievements accomplished throughout its successive phases.
For its part, the visiting delegation commended the maturity of Oman’s Shura experience and the development of its mechanisms and practices in ways that strengthen legislative work and align with its evolving requirements.
