An American diplomatic delegation visits the Shura Council to learn about the legislative roles of the Council

A diplomatic delegation from the US Embassy in Muscat visited the Shura Council headed by William Scaventon, the political and economic official at the embassy, and a number of specialists. During the visit, Saif Khalfan Al Kindi, Assistant Secretary-General for Media and Public Relations, gave them an overview of the roles and follow-up tools of the council members based on the law of the Council of Oman, and an overview of the role and functions of the council's Bureau and permanent committees. The delegation was also briefed on the mechanism of managing sessions under the council's dome using modern technologies.
The visiting delegation was also briefed on the unique architectural design of the Majlis of Oman, which is inspired by the Omani environment and the ancient Omani architecture, such as those available in castles and forts. After that, the delegation visited the Majlis Oman Library, and the members of the visiting delegation from the library's specialists listened to an overview of the most important references, publications, scientific encyclopedias and academic studies that the library abounds in.
