During the hosting of the CEO of Nama Water Services, the "Services and Public Utilities Committee" of the Shura Council discussed enhancing the services provided by the company and its strategy for renewing contracts for tanker owners.

During its meeting on Thursday morning, the Services and Public Utilities Committee of the Shura Council hosted several representatives from Nama Water Services. The purpose was to discuss mechanisms for renewing contracts for water tanker owners and the delays in establishing water supply networks in certain residential areas across various governorates of the Sultanate of Oman.
 
During the meeting, Qais bin Saud Al-Zakwani, CEO of Nama Water Services, presented a detailed visual presentation covering water transportation services, pricing, billing, and the company's future plans to expand household water supply networks, along with the prepaid meter program.

In a related visual presentation, another specialist from the company discussed the upcoming project to replace mechanical meters with smart meters. This presentation outlined the project's objectives, implementation strategy, and the timeline for completion. It also included details about the electronic services offered through the company's application, which features 33 e-services, an electronic inquiry system, a prepaid system transition through the app, consumption capping, interactive WhatsApp service, appointment booking, and reporting and complaint services via the app.

Members of the committee presented several inquiries and suggestions regarding the services provided by the company. These focused on water tanker contracts and pricing, the need to direct these opportunities to job seekers through a preferential mechanism, the importance of expediting the establishment of water supply networks in various governorates of Oman, and replacing old pipelines with modern ones to prevent water loss.

The committee's goal through this hosting was to discuss improvement plans and elevate the quality of services provided by Nama Water Services in Oman, ensuring they meet current citizen needs and keep pace with technological advancements in the water services sector.

The meeting took place during the committee's fourth regular meeting for the first annual session of the tenth period of the council (2023-2027), chaired by His Excellency Hamoud bin Ahmed Al-Yahyai, head of the committee, and attended by several esteemed members.
