The Bureau of the Shura Council approved today (Monday) the results of the elections for the standing committees, along with the final lists of committee members for the second half of the tenth term (2023–2027). The members will begin carrying out their responsibilities within the Council’s standing committees, reviewing and studying a range of topics outlined in their respective work plans, which endorsed earlier today during the Council’s second regular session.
The approval came during the Office’s second regular meeting for the Third annual Session of the Tenth Term (2023–2027), chaired by H.E. Khalid Hilal al-Maawali, Chairman of the Shura Council, and in the presence of their Excellencies members of the Bureau and H.E. Ahmed Mohammed al-Nadabi, Secretary-General of the Council.
During the meeting, a number of the ministerial responses were reviewed, most notably the Council of Ministers’ reply regarding the proposal to allow graduates of the College of Sharia Sciences who studied via distance learning to enroll in teacher qualification programs, as well as the Cabinet’s response concerning the procedures required to prevent expatriate workers from leaving the country without their sponsor’s approval.
The meeting also discussed the response of H.E. the Chairman of the Public Authority for Special Economic Zones and Free Zones to the inquiry related to the agreement on the treatment of steel waste. In addition, the Office reviewed an inquiry submitted to H.E. the Governor of North Al-Batinah regarding the community contributions of mining and quarrying companies in the governorate.
