Education Committee discusses School Student Behavioral Issues

The Education Committee hosted H.E. Nasr Khamis Al-Sawai, the Public Prosecutor, and a number of specialists from the Public Prosecution, to discuss and address behavioral problems among school students and juvenile-related cases.
The meeting, chaired by H.E. Jamal Ahmed Al-Abri, head of the Committee, and in the presence of their Excellencies members of the committee, reviewed key issues and incidents within the school environment that have reached judicial authorities. It also examined statistics related to juvenile cases and their distribution across the governorates.
The meeting highlighting the importance of cooperation between relevant authorities to effectively address and reduce these issues. The meeting also emphasized the vital role of public awareness, with efforts required from both government institutions and civil society organizations. The role of families in promoting ethical behavior among school students was also strongly underlined.
This meeting falls within the Committee’s ongoing commitment to follow up on all educational and pedagogical aspects within schools across the Sultanate of Oman. It aims to identify challenges facing the educational environment and develop insights and recommendations, in partnership with concerned institutions, that contribute to enhancing the quality of education.
