Counsellor Ahmed Ezzat Manna, Secretary-General of the Egyptian House of Representatives, received a delegation of staff from the Shura Council Secretariat General, headed by Faisal Al Raisi, Assistant Secretary-General for Media and Public Relations, as part of the mutual visits exchanged between Arab legislative councils to strengthen parliamentary cooperation and the exchange of expertise and knowledge.
The Counsellor welcomed the delegation, commending the strong relations between the Sultanate of Oman and the sisterly Arab Republic of Egypt, particularly in the parliamentary and legislative fields, and expressing appreciation for the visit and the friendly sentiments it carries between the two countries.
The Secretariat's delegation also met with their counterparts among specialists at the Egyptian House of Representatives, where they were briefed on the Egyptian experience and the stages of its legislative process, in addition to learning about working mechanisms across its various administrative divisions, particularly regarding the use of modern technologies in legislative and administrative work. Staff of the Shura Council Secretariat General also visited the House of Representatives' new headquarters in the New Administrative Capital and were briefed on its key modern technologies and support facilities.
It is worth noting that the Secretariat General of the Shura Council organises mutual visits with a number of legislative councils with a view to strengthening frameworks of institutional cooperation and exchanging administrative, technical and legislative expertise between these councils, thereby contributing to developing competencies and advancing the professional capabilities of the Secretariat's staff.
